A three-day disconnection in the high Pyrenees — 6–7 hours and ~25 km a day through forests, glacial rivers and Camino de Santiago trails.

Quick facts

The experience

A getaway for lovers of wide-open spaces, fresh air and spectacular landscapes — to disconnect physically and mentally and feel far from everything. A medium-high riding level is required (safe at all three gaits) with outdoor experience; otherwise let us know in advance. Riding days usually last 6–7 hours, covering around 25 km depending on terrain, weather and group.

The hotel is a former 19th-century inn turned comfortable mountain lodge, beside the Aragón River, two kilometres from Jaca.

Day-by-day

  1. Day 1: Afternoon arrival at the hotel and dinner.
  2. Day 2: Ride the Camino de Santiago toward Jaca, climbing to the Sierra de los Ángeles (~1,360 m) for the first majestic Pyrenean views; ~28 km, then a traditional menu with Somontano wine. Afternoon ride through pine and fir forest, crossing the glacial Aragón River. Dinner.
  3. Day 3: Toward the Garcipollera nature reserve and its rich wildlife, riding beneath the high peaks; outdoor lunch; ~5–6 hours in the saddle. Optional visit to Jaca if you’re not too tired.
  4. Day 4: The longest, flattest route (~31 km), touring the villages around Jaca and visiting its 16th-century star-shaped Citadel, with an outdoor lunch en route, then back via the Camino. End of trip.
